Is it a realistic ambition for the Reds this season?

|

If Dalglish spends yet more money in strengthening Liverpool’s defence, which he should as they’ve conceded 15 goals in 5 friendlies, then he can have little grounds for complaint. His problem will not lie in the owner’s ambitious but justified expectations but with the actual task ahead, knocking out one of the current top four. Based on Arsenal’s dramatic decline at the end of last season, they would seem like the team to beat however their consistency in top four finishes is phenomenal, (a straight run since 1997 now). Dalglish will not only have to hope they pick up from how they finished last season, he will also have to ensure that his side gels incredibly quickly.

FSG have set Kenny Dalglish a tough target but they have given him a huge amount of help in reaching it. Liverpool’s considerable spending this year has already put pressure on them to achieve Champions League qualification, with or without FSG saying it explicitly. It is only right to start the season with great expectations.

Are u serious? The minimum achievement should be a top four finish. Liverpool should aim to challenge for the league. Take it one game at a time, I really dont think we are that far off.

I think that 4th is the best Liverpool can do this season after all you no Man Utd.

Liverpool will click and push for title this season.
People are too quick to write us off. Taking the 2nd half of the season from when KK took the reins as a barometer alone gives me great confidence. Our squad has improved since then too.

There is something some people are missing! do you think kk will go into the start of the season and say “top 4 lads and thats us sorted”. Not a chance. kk has already instilled how important this club is to him and the fans; and he expects performances to suit. this is all it needs! When a football club has a manager who represents the fans and the club as a whole it sends a message that no matter how much your on or how good you think you are, we are liverpool and this is the liverpool way. kk will not settle for 4 and nor will liverpool, as soon as the first ball is kicked liverpool will just concentrate on the next game and ensure a win. this means that if you win every game, you win the league and kk wants to win every game!

    Liverpool for the title hahahahaha!

When kk took over in january, everything improved.
”May be if he has been there from the begining of the season instead of Roy, we would have competed for the league” some fans said.
So now that new players are in, its a realistic target.
